Biography
Verity is an Associate Professor in Education at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Her long standing research focus has been on routes to sustainable futures through social and environmental justice. For thirty years Verity has been committed to developing networks of trust with communities and organisations. Due to the high demand for her skills she has had the opportunity to be involved with a variety of projects with public engagement and knowledge exchange at their core. Project themes have included: food systems, extreme weather events, the impact of fast fashion, awareness of plants and the value of biodiversity, and children's racialised experiences.
Verity has used body mapping techniques in a number of projects with diverse participants. These include exploring racialised experiences with 7–11-year-olds; reflecting on 12–16-year-old girls' experiences of walking in urban areas; and navigating parent and children's emotions to climate change.
