Topsy Turvy, COVID - Meaning Making through Art
St. Vincent's Hospital - April 2022
This exhibition featured artworks as well as images and sounds created by health leaders and their SPHERE collaborators. A core element of the exhibition was a large-scale collage wall, where audience members creatively played with a series of magnetised cut-out images to produce their own Topsy Turvy collage. Utilising the projection screen in the mezzanine, these digital creations were projected onto one of the walls of the exhibition space in real-time.
Building on the tradition of wishing walls, audiences had the opportunity to contribute short messages of hope or reflections about care and connection catalysed through COVID. Members of the research team, and collaborating artists, attended the exhibition daily to hold space for conversations stimulated by the exhibition.
