Biography
Associate Professor Fereshteh Pourkazemi is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist, researcher, and visual artist based at the University of Sydney. Her interdisciplinary work explores musculoskeletal and chronic pain through biopsychosocial, social, and creative approaches to health and wellbeing.

Her research integrates clinical science with participatory and arts-based methodologies to better understand the lived and embodied experiences of pain and health. Through collaboration with patients, communities, clinicians, and policymakers, she seeks to translate research into meaningful change in healthcare and community settings.
Fereshteh is the Convener of the Sydney Pain Consortium, an interdisciplinary network advancing pain research, education, and implementation across the lifespan. Alongside her academic work, she is an exhibiting visual artist and has increasingly incorporated creative and arts-based approaches into her research and community engagement.
Her work reflects a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge translation, and the use of creative methods to surface lived experiences of health and illness.
