Biography
Professor Ann Dadich is a social scientist and registered psychologist whose scholarship advances innovative approaches to knowledge translation, health service management, and research impact. Internationally recognised for her research, Ann examines how diverse forms and sources of knowledge come together to promote ‘brilliant care’ – that is, care that exceeds expectation and improves outcomes for individuals and communities.
Ann’s program of research focuses on bridging the gap between evidence and practice across complex health and social systems. Her work is grounded in transdisciplinary and participatory approaches, drawing on her experience working with diverse populations to ensure research is both rigorous and socially responsive.
A leader in knowledge translation, Ann investigates how knowledge is co-produced, mobilised, and embedded in practice. She is Deputy Director of the Sydney Partnership for Health, Education, Research and Enterprise (SPHERE) Knowledge Translation Platform, where she collaborates with health services, universities, and research institutes to enhance the accessibility, relevance, and impact of research.
Ann’s research spans health service management, qualitative and participatory methodologies, and innovative approaches including co-design and arts-based research. She is particularly interested in how creative, relational, and practice-based methods can extend the reach of research beyond academia and support more inclusive forms of knowledge exchange.
With an extensive body of publications, competitive research funding, and editorial leadership across leading journals, Ann contributes actively to shaping scholarship and practice in her field. She also plays a key role in academic and professional communities through her involvement with organisations such as the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management and the Australian Consortium for Social and Political Research.
Through her research, teaching, and leadership, Ann continues to influence how social science informs policy, practice, and lived experience, helping to ensure that research translates into meaningful and equitable improvements in care and wellbeing.
